Two sisters on a mission to increase the accessibility of art by making affordable Black art.

We are Eunice Quao and Amma Ababio, the oldest of four children. We were born in Kumasi, Ghana, and came to the United States when we were 5 and 7. Eunice was always the creative sister growing up, making jewelry, clothes, and other crafts. Amma did not explore her creativity until high school, when she took various art classes, including ceramics, fashion, and jewelry. She did not continue with her crafts until college, when she took an Islamic art class to fulfill her art requirement in college.

When the pandemic hit in March 2020, we turned to art to pass the time. Eunice picked up sewing again when she became pregnant with her first child, Jesse. Being a first-time mom makes it hard for Eunice to sew consistently, but she tries when Jesse is playing or sleeping. Amma spontaneously picked up painting one morning in 2020.

We  first made crafts for our friends and family, but in May 2022, we decided to open this Etsy shop to share our creativity more widely.
